What better way than to start a lazy day with a plate heaped with hot, fluffy, french toast?
French toast is one of our favorite breakfasts. It doesn’t take as long to make as pancakes tend to and you can add many different toppings such as butter, maple syrup, whipped cream, jam and not to forget, fresh fruit!
To make these delicious, golden beauties, I mix equal amounts of egg and milk. I add a little splash of vanilla and stir a dash of pumpkin spice (cinnamon works well too!) through it. Give it a good stir with a whisk and soak thick-sliced, white bread into the mixture. Heat some butter in the frying pan and place the soaked slices into the pan. Flip them a few times and when they are golden brown, they are ready to be enjoyed!
This morning we topped it just with real Canadian maple syrup.
