noah turns six! | little family getaway

Earlier this month, Noah turned 6!  He had been looking forward to this day for a very long time.  As each day passed, he erased one of the many stripes he had marked on the blackboard until there were none left.  We decided to give him his birthday present the day prior to his actual birthday since we had planned to leave for a one-night getaway.  He already woke us up at around 12:30 a.m. that morning, urging us to get up and start the unwrapping-of-the-gift ceremony.  Fortunately, he fell back asleep.  He had no idea that we had purchased him a new bike and was completely surprised when he removed the blindfold!

Noah was our smallest baby which is hard to believe as he is now a tall and handsome young man.  Sweet and shy, yet very cool, he loves to learn how anything is made, from cookies to monster trucks, not sparing a single detail.

He hosted a little party for his friends, eating cake and enjoying some fun adventures in the park.

Since the kids had a few days off, we decided to go away for a night and visit some fun places!

We left early that morning and headed to LEGOLAND!  Since our kids are lego fans, they greatly enjoyed themselves.  Legoland is such a bright, creative, happy and colorful place to be!  There were hardly any other visitors besides us, so we were free to play as we wished.  There were some amazing structures built out of lego, including the city of Toronto, which was very impressive.

imageWe stayed overnight in the area and the kids enjoyed a quick swim at the hotel before falling asleep.  The following day, we woke up early and headed to Niagara Falls.  Johannes and I had been there numerous times, but the kids had never seen it before.  It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day to view the majestic attraction.  The kids were quite impressed.  Each of us got a day pass which included free entry to the Butterfly Conservatory.  We ended the day by enjoying a lovely dinner at our friends’ house.

It was difficult to decide which pictures to use from the many beautiful ones we took that day, but enjoy a little visual summary below.

Thanks for stopping by!
